And if you find your lawyer not doing what these things say, then fire them and find a new lawyer. You only get one shot really. It is important to get all the evidence and witnesses you can, and make sure that they are correctly brought in. This means taking sworn affidavits, subpoenas, and having witnesses on the stand to verify the validity of evidence. Even an actual police report, with stamp, form the police station, can be turned down if the police officer is not sworn in on the stand to verify its authenticity. And if your lawyer messes up it is you and your children that pay the price not them. And if the judge doesn’t actually do what they should you are still the one who gets screwed.
And go watch a few days of court in front of a couple of different judges.
